A History of Violence and Rent

So last Wednesday i went to cinema and watched A History of Violence by myself. In the studio there were only 5 of us!! 2 couples and me. It was so so quiet...

I thought this movie was really good since i had read many reviews and critics which told that A History of Violence was another masterpiece by David Cronenberg and it was a must-see feature. I had no doubt to spend a little-but-much money to watch this movie.

When it began, it was just okay. The opening sequence presented a long one-shot scene. It kept going and going until we were in the middle of the movie, the conflict part, and i was stunned. I mean i was really got stucked in my seat. It was really intense, thrilling. And was closed with a beautiful conclusion and great shot.

But, i have to admit this, at some point of the movie i got a little sleepy and i closed my eyes for a while. Some parts of this movie were boring enough. But still very intense and surprising. Actually this movie was based on a book, and i believe that the book must be much much better than the movie. David Cronenberg obviously is an arty director. He has his own vision and his movies are somehow unique in some ways. No wonder A History of Violence was screened at this year's Cannes Film Festival and was nominated too.

Overall: 7 / 10

I am hunger to watch the new-another-based-on-broadway-musical-play movie, RENT. It had been released widely on November 23rd in USA. But it will reach our beloved nation on April 20th. Do i have to wait that long??

You should check that movie out. It was great, better than Chicago. Touching. The trailer was so inspiring. The soundtracks were lovely. And i love Rosario Dawson in that musical.
